Metro Park Residence is a large apartment complex located in South Kedoya, West Jakarta, just across from the headquarters of Metro TV.
It consists of two towers, each 24 floors high (called Diamond and Manhattan), that combine over 1,200 apartments and studios in total.
I spent a week living there and this is my review about the property.
Location
Metro Park Residence is within the administrative village of Kedoya Baru, in the district of Kebon Jeruk (West Jakarta). Until recently, it was still a low-to-middle income area with a large Indonesian-Chinese population. New residents are now pouring in to take advantage of the strategic location near the Kebon Jeruk exit of the toll road between Tangerang and Jakarta.
While Central Jakarta is still a bit far (at least 45 minutes), you can go anywhere in West Jakarta quite easily. Tangerang is also within reasonable reach (30 minutes).
The neighborhood around Metro Park Residence is not really interesting. At the moment, there are mostly empty fields around it as you can guess from this photo:
If you walk outside the complex, you will find a few Indonesian food stalls but nothing very sophisticated. The closest mall is Lotte Puri Indah, about 10 minutes away by car. Closer (5 minutes), you can also visit Pasar Puri Indah, a local market with cheap products (especially fruits and vegetables). Near from Pasar Puri Indah, there are several good restaurants, a Starbuck and a Ranch Market.
Siloam Hospital Kebon Jeruk is only 1 kilometer away but you will need at least 15 minutes to go there as it is on the other side of the toll road.
Facilities and Services
While the location of Metro Park is not its strong point, I must say I was surprised by the number of services and facilities available within the complex.
There are two convenience stores, 1 ATM Link, several coffee shops, restaurants, salons and laundry shops. You also have many property agents as well as interior designers. Some of these are outside and some are housed in an elegant gallery:
The facilities of Metro Park are great too! In particular, the swimming pool is incredibly long (at least 50 meters, more than the length of an Olympic-sized swimming pool). The area surrounding it is large, with plenty of trees and flowers. You also have games for kids and several spaces to sit down / relax.
There are 2 gyms, one in each tower, with brand-new equipment and enough space to do yoga or stretching. On the 1st floor, I also saw two ping pong tables, a meeting room, and a playing room for children.
Quality
Metro Park Residence is managed by Inner City, a company that also operated Mediterrania Garden Residence in Taman Anggrek.
As far as I could tell, they were very professional. The cleanliness was excellent (even the public toilet) and the maintenance satisfactory apart from some areas (broken tiles in the swimming pool, dirty walls). The receptionists were friendly and available to assist me whenever it was necessary.
If security is a concern of yours, you should know that you you need an access card to go to the elevators and then to go to your unit floor.
Prices
Prices at Metro Park Residence may vary greatly depending, among other things, on the floor, the unit type, the room condition and the furnishings. Here are estimates from online ads:
