Founded in 1957, this school prepares its students for the German International Abitur, a diploma allowing them to continue their studies in Germany. Naturally, it is the preferred school for German, Swiss, or Austrian expats, but it is also a popular choice among Indonesian families looking for excellent value for money.

Tuition fees in the German School are much lower than most of its direct competitors, for instance, BSJ or JIS, yet the quality of the teaching is equivalent. Also, for those who intend to study abroad after high school, you should know that many prestigious German universities are free.

It is located on a spacious, 4-hectare, lush campus in Bumi Serpong Damai (South Tangerang), more than an hour away from Pondok Indah.

Curriculum and programs:

For the primary school and secondary school, Thuringian Teaching Curriculum, preparing the “Deutsches Internationales Arbitur (DIA)”

In Kindergarten, the learning philosophy is that of Reggio Emilia.

Cost (yearly):

All students:  IDR 196,000,000 + one-time admission fee of IDR 140,000,000

Daycare under 6 years old: IDR 124,000,000 + one-time admission fee of IDR 75,000,000

Trilingual program: From IDR 35,000,000 to IDR 95,000,000

There are discounts available for large families and for long-term students.

Bus service: IDR 48,000,000 per year for students living in Jakarta, and IDR 19,500,000 for those living in Serpong

Language of instruction:

German.

If your kid doesn’t speak German, there is a trilingual program (English, German, Indonesian) from Kindergarten to Year 6.

For English, they prepare for the Cambridge English Language Assessment.

Extra-curricular activities:

Sports: Badminton, Basketball, Soccer, Swimming, Volleyball, Jazz Dance, Running, Tennis, etc.
