Soundproof / Silent Apartments in Jakarta
Hi there Julien,
First of all I'd like to tell you how much I appreciate your helpful and comprehensive reviews..
As an extremely light sleeper, ive been finding it hard to catch a proper sleep in hotels/homestays, usually due to sounds upstairs furnitures scraping against the floor, water pipes, mosques.. simple noises that most ppl can handle but instruments of torture for me.
My most recent move to Tamansari Sudirman has been a big fail due to a weird thud/pipe noise every minute or so coming from the upstairs of my bathroom.
Please would you recommend a few places to stay that is soundproof both from the outside and upstairs? ;'(
I would prefer the South or West area with a budget of roughly IDR 8 mio per month/550 USD if possible. (I work in the SCBD)
That said feel free to mention the ones you can think of since im pretty desperate i dont mind springing more.
Also just wondering how did you get to stay for a few days in the apartments? Id love to do that, try the apartments for a few days just to see if i like them.
Thanks so much for reading a sleepless persons rant and keep doing what your doing!
Hi Wina, thanks for your message and sorry for the late reply, I was on holiday 🙂
If you work in SCBD, maybe you could try Menteng Park? I was staying there for several months and I thought it was quiet. You can still hear the noise from the mosques, but it is not too disturbing. You can get a studio there for 550 USD I think.
In the West area, the new complex Taman Anggrek Residences is pretty nice as well, especially if you have an apartment facing the pool. The price is around 500USD per month at the moment.
I try the apartments by renting them from Airbnb. I often visit Jakarta and, each time, I stay in a different location/apartment... That's why I've been to so many...
Good luck with your search, don't hesitate to keep us updated here if you can. It would certainly help other readers.
Thanks for the recommendation, hope you had a good holiday! TA Residence and Menteng Park look great. I will be looking at airbnbs available in those places and hopefully find my first proper sleep in a month. Thanks again for such thorough reviews and user-friendly website 🙂
