Aston at Kuningan suites
Hello, do you have any experience or suggestion regarding Aston at Kuningan suites? I was checking the map and it does look good to me, in terms of closeness to my future office. But I don't know Jakarta, and have only roughly seen the basics of the city map. But will be working close to this one
I did stay in Aston at Kuningan Suites last October, but I haven't written the review yet. Overall, I was a bit disappointed. It is a rather old property with old furniture and facilities. My bed was comfortable but the room a bit dusty. The pool area doesn't look so nice (see photo below) and the gym is too small, with some equipment not working properly. Despite all this, the price is quite high, probably because of the great location.
Where is your office exactly and what is your budget? I may be able to recommend a better property.
Yes, that sounds disappointing. If I understood my employer correctly, office will be close to Italian institute
I would really like to stay relatively close, if possible to walk to the office. However, I like other stuff too, and my budget is sort of medium level, not budget, but no luxury either. Would like to be able to do some clubbing and such /by that I mean meeting Indo ladies/, to be very frank
In that area, I think Menteng Park would be good for you. It's not walking distance from the Italian Cultural Center, but it's pretty near (10 minutes by taxi). For me, it's one of the best value properties in Jakarta at the moment (great gym and pool). The problem is that it is about 20-30 minutes from the most popular clubs and bars (in Mega Kuningan).
To be nearer from clubs, you can check the properties in the Rasuna Epicentrum complex, such as The Wave or Kuningan Place. If you can afford 1000US$ per month for rent, then you may be interested with Denpasar Residence or Ambassade Residence. Both are about 10-15 minutes from your work, and 10 minutes from the clubs.
Good suggestion, thanks. However, I was not precise - my budget is bigger than that sum, maybe 2x or even 2.5x that. So I can afford something even nicer or closer
Merci. Since you are still patiently answering specific questions, let me just add another. How would you compare Setiabudi with Shangrila (I saw your article) and Kempinski residence? I mean apart from the prices? I have no idea even though I went through available infos on net. But would not know how to make preference, even locations
Kempinski: The location is hard to beat (above Grand Indonesia Mall), it's a prestigious address, and the service is great. But the facilities are not as good as Setiabudi Sky Garden (smaller pool, smaller green areas, and smaller gym). It is also an older property.
Shangri-La: It's not big, so you'll quickly know everybody there. It looks the most luxurious, and it is also a prestigious address. Personalized service with a concierge. A bit overpriced in my opinion. The gym/pool/apartments are just normal. I don't like the location so much as there is not much to do around on foot.
Setiabudi Sky Garden: New, large pool and gym, next to shops, restaurants and supermarket. But the apartments are small compared to the above. The location is quite strategic just between Jalan Sudirman and Jalan Rasuna Said (the two main roads in Jakarta).
If I had a choice among all of the above, personally I would choose Kempinski. Being next to Grand Indonesia Mall and Plaza Indonesia is really convenient, especially if you plan on going out a lot.
